When you go to buy a home, you already know that you have the right to choose who you work with to find that home. Through word of mouth or other resources available to you, you find a realtor that you feel comfortable working with, and who you trust to have your best interests in mind when searching for the perfect home.

But, what about your financing source?

While your mortgage broker may not have the opportunity to show you your dream house, they are the one that will help you finance the loan for your dream house. Your relationship with your mortgage broker is important.

Without good communication, you may end up in a loan that doesn’t suit your needs or you may be left feeling confused about your loan and the lending process.

So what does this all mean?

Well, you need to be in control of where you get your financing. Just because your relator “works” with a particular broker doesn’t mean that you have to use them. If you meet with your realtor’s broker and you just don’t click, or you are unsure about the program and/or rate they are providing, shop around.

It’s important that you know you are in control of who you employ to get your financing. It’s your choice.
