February is nearly behind us, which means March is coming around the bend.
As we look forward to the coming month, there is one event that we'd like to let our Veterans know about, and that's the "Hiring Our Heroes" event that is taking place on March 14 in Salem, Oregon.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is an opportunity for active duty military, Veterans, and Guard and Reserve members to find employment.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting Rannae Cooper, the owner of Stir Crazy Coffee, in Lacey, Washington.
Let me just say, Rannae makes great lattes! (The hazelnut, mocha I had was awesome.) I noticed within a 10 min period that every customer (and there were many that came in) were repeat customer and I could taste the reason why! Rannae also has four other baristas that work with her to cover all their operating hours.
Besides getting a great coffee, I was visiting Stir Krazy because Rannae had agreed to let us put up a sign representing our company: Creekside Mortgage near her coffee shop.

Signs of spring are right around the corner in Central Oregon. The snow that fell and insured a white Christmas is almost melted and at least some folks are hoping for more.
Real Estate activity has picked up, too, with increased listings and more buyers looking.
The Central Oregon market, like most markets, is poised for an uptick and the best market element we have going for us still remains -- people love the High Desert and still want to live here and enjoy our lifestyle.

The Boise area housing market is in the midst of a positive turn around. We have a limited supply of homes on the market in the low to middle price range with multiple offers coming in on many listings.
The foreclosures are becoming less and less, which is helping the area recover.
With the lack of inventory in the lower range and the foreclosures disappearing, our home prices have risen -- however, you can still purchase a nice home at a great price, especially with the current low interest rates!
We also have a wonderful range of new construction properties that are selling very well through out the valley! If you are in the market for a "higher end " home you have a wide choice of properties as these are not selling as fast. With Spring close in coming, we are expecting a "moving" summer this year!

Because we like to keep in close contact with our clients, both past and present, we often receive calls from individuals who have received questionable mail, promising to save them money on their mortgage.
As we receive calls about these mailers, our team goes to work to figure out just what the company is offering you and determine any loopholes or tricks that may not be overly apparent in their marketing efforts.
Then, we'll let you know what we find out. And, we'll also let you know what we can do for you in terms of mortgage products on the market. But, we'll be honest. If we can't do the deal that they are offering and it is in your best interest, we'll tell you.
Be aware as you open your mail of companies that are offering you too-good-to-be-true interest rates. While it may be true that they can offer you that rate, you have to ask yourself under what conditions those rates are being offered. Is it a low rate that will grow over time? Or is that rate only available for a certain window of time?
