I met with Tim Davis and enjoyed an informative conversation about the Everett Vet Center.
Tim is a retired Air Force Officer and he has a deep level of experience addressing specific needs of Veterans.
I have had the honor of meeting a Marine - Nathan Sutton who works at the Everett Vet Center and he inspires me. Camping trips, rock climbing, guitar lessons and pizza nights to name a few events after hours he puts together for our Veterans.

I had the pleasure of meeting Debbie and Jeff at the Tacoma Vet Center.
From the moment I walked in I was warmly greeted and impressed with the surroundings.
Veterans can come here for an array of services and we are excited with the opportunity to be a part of helping our deserving Veterans.
Creekside Mortgage, Inc. had the distinct pleasure of adopting a new donation location today. As of today, whenever we close a VA purchase loan in Tacoma, Washington, we'll be donating $100 to the Tacoma Vet Center.
To kickoff our new relationship with the center, our own Mike Frakes took a few moments out of his day to go shake hands with individuals at the center and presented them with or first check.

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation collects money to help the children of fallen soldiers go to collge. As a company of Veterans, ourselves, we want to support other service members, even those who have passed away.
Each time we close a loan in the Tri-Cities, we donate $100 to the foundation in the name of the VA borrower. So, Veterans get the home of their dreams, and we, as a company of Veterans, get to pass along a financial donation to families who have lost their Veteran.

The owner of Creekside Mortgage, Inc., Kerry Greenwald, has come up with some of his very own predictions about what 2013 has in store for Clark County.
And, here they are:
1. The unemployment rate will continue to fall.
2. More people are going to start buying in Clark County.
So, what does this mean? Well, Kerry thinks that as unemployment rates continue to fall, more people will be working. As more people are working, more people will start buying houses. Makes sense, right?
On a bigger scale, however, these predictions point to the shortage of inventory that buyers are experiencing in the Clark County market, and Kerry things this will only get worse as the year continues. This summer, Kerry expects inventory to be particularly lean.
Right now, homes in the $200,000 price range are moving fast, especially if they are "clean" and without major problems.

That's right. Kerry Greenwald, the owner of Creekside Mortgage, Inc. gives his father, Floyd Greenwald, the credit for his drive to create Creekside. Floyd, who just turned 80 years old, still comes into the office everyday and has an office beside Kerry.
The idea of "Veterans Helping Veterans" was originally Floyd's idea, after having served for 38 years, 10 months and 16 days in the military.
According to Kerry, his father instilled in him the idea that each person who comes to Creekside will be treated with an equal amount of respect, whether they are ready to sign their loan papers or are far away from their home ownership goals.
And most of all, Floyd instilled in Kerry the idea that Creekside should provide services for Veterans that would help them along their home buying or refinancing journey.
Kerry also served the Guard, and this experience, paired with his father's ideals, lead to the creation of Creekside as we know it today.
While most places are commerating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with a day away from the office, Creekside is in the office working away to help clients get their loans funded. But, just because we're working today, it doesn't mean that we have forgotten the spirit of the day.
Today, we remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the sacrifices he made to propel the country towards equality, and we are thankful for that. It is with gratitude that we remember the man who was willing to make the United States a more equal place for all.
